With the help of 3D printing, tiny robots will be created

Due to an innovative technique, engineers from one of the laboratories at the University of California were able to produce parts for small robots using 3D printing. It became possible to print all the systems required for the functioning of robots on a 3D printer.

Special metamaterials are used for printing, thanks to them robots will be able to overcome various obstacles, be controlled remotely, receive commands for work.

As engineers point out, the new technology will mainly be used to create biomedical robots. They are used to deliver medicines directly to the organs, to be used as controlled endoscopes.

3D printing has not been used before to create such robots, because there was no appropriate technology and materials.

Now, after several working prototypes have been created, the technology of creating robots using 3D printing can become massive. First of all, robots will be created for the medical industry and the space industry.
