By 2030, Russian cosmonauts will start receiving radiation medications

Although the influence of outer space and weightlessness on the human body is still being actively studied, some forms of this influence have long been proven and scientifically substantiated. At the moment, it is known that in space conditions, internal organs begin to work differently, there is a violation of the potassium-magnesium balance, as well as all this together leads to the leaching of calcium from bone tissues.

Today, on February 18, Alexander Bloshenko, Executive Director of Roscosmos, said that by 2030 it is planned to develop and introduce drugs for astronauts to prepare their bodies for prolonged exposure to outer space, radiation and hypomagnetism. We are talking about radioprotectors.

According to Bloshenko, the terms of reference have already been completed. Then it will be sent to the competent authorities and medical institutes for research work and the creation of the necessary drugs.
