China launches new telescope

In 2 years, the launch of the Xuntian telescope is scheduled, it will become part of the space station. As Chinese scientists point out, the telescope could become one of the most powerful in history. Its task will include the study of distant galaxies. The telescope is planned to be placed near the space station.

This is done in order to make it easier to carry out maintenance of the equipment in case of damage. The Chinese telescope should last at least 11 years, but it is possible that the service life will be extended.

The telescope will house the latest equipment for space exploration, coronographs, detectors, modules, spectrographs and other measuring devices.

Now specialists are engaged in setting up equipment for the telescope, and in a year it is planned to conduct final tests of the equipment.

If everything goes according to the established schedule, then in 2 years Chinese scientists will be able to use the telescope’s capabilities to study outer space. Thus, the PRC continues to expand its presence in space, developing the appropriate infrastructure for its study.
